With multiple tattoo removal lasers, we can more efficiently reduce and remove tattoos of every color than most laser tattoo removal shops. We are the only facility in Colorado with a Q-Switched Alexandrite 755nm laser that is used exclusively for blues and greens. It is superior because it fires at 10 repetitions per second while most other blue/green lasers fire at only 1 per second. What does this mean to you… less time in the treatment room! We now offer nitrous sedation ($250 add on) for those of you who feel anxious about pain from tattoo removal.

How does Laser Tattoo Removal work?

The energy from the laser passes harmlessly through the skin and is absorbed by the color of ink in the tattoo. This energy heats up the ink particles and breaks them into tiny pieces which are then absorbed by the body or exfoliated like a splinter.

Laser tattoo removal can be performed on all skin types and any area of the body, except the eyelids. During your free consultation, our staff will evaluate your tattoo and thoroughly answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Will Laser Tattoo Removal be expensive?

Pricing is determined mainly by the tattoo’s size, see our price chart below. You will need multiple sessions to totally remove your tattoo.

Is Laser Tattoo Removal safe?

Yes. Rocky Mountain Laser College uses FDA cleared Q-Switched or Pico lasers from the top manufacturers in the industry. All our instructors have received certification for laser safety and have performed thousands of laser tattoo removal treatments.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments depends upon how old the tattoo is, your skin type, colors used, your overall health, the location on your body, who put the tattoo on and if it is new work or cover-up. Some old or homemade tattoos can come off in just a few treatments while tribals, cover-ups or very dark tattoos may take ten or more. Laser tattoo removal can be a painful procedure, but our instructors are making advances in techniques to provide treatments that most clientele find tolerable. The average tattoo removal treatment takes between 1-5 minutes for average size tattoos, and the pain experienced decreases immediately once the treatment is completed.

What can I expect after a laser tattoo removal session?

There is immediate whitening of the treated area which usually lasts for several minutes. It can be expected that tattoo removal laser treatments may create a superficial heat blister. Some clients may also experience bruising or swelling.  Crusting or scabs can show up within 12-72 hours, which may last for 1-2 weeks or more. The treated areas may then become pink or pale after the scab separates. Scarring of the treated area, however unlikely, may occur. The loss of skin pigment in the treated area is common and is usually temporary. Healing is usually complete by 4-6 weeks.

How can I make the healing process go more smoothly?

Your Certified Laser Specialist® will provide you with after care instructions. To print your own copy click on laser tattoo removal after care instructions. Compliance with the instructions is crucial for healing, prevention of scarring or other complications.
