Deciding Between Rocky Mountain Laser College and “National Laser School” for Cosmetic Laser Training
Learn more lasers & treatments for less money.
Many prospective cosmetic laser students find Us (Rocky Mountain Laser College) and the other big “National Laser School.” We aren’t allowed to use this school’s real name, as they threatened to sue us after we provided a fair and accurate comparison between our two laser training programs.
Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish between the two laser schools. What’s real information versus marketing fluff? While both programs ultimately provide a solid foundation to launch your career in laser esthetics, there are significant differences in what you learn and the cost.
Lasers & Devices Taught
The biggest difference between our Certified Laser Specialist course and the big “National Laser School” Laser Boot Camp is the number of treatments, lasers, and devices you learn. We teach you 9 distinct lasers and radio frequency devices. Both schools teach Laser Hair Removal, IPL, RF heating, and Q-switch Tattoo Removal. However, we include CO2 Fractional laser, RF Microneedling, Pico Tattoo Removal, and Pico Facials. “National Laser School” will teach you CO2 Fractional and RF Microneedling in a separate course for $2950 more money and two additional days in class. As of April 2024, “National Laser School” doesn’t offer any courses on Pico (picosecond) lasers.
Laser Training Cost Compared
Our laser training costs $6500; this is $2,000 less than “National Laser School’s” cost of $8545. Our Certified Laser Specialist course has an online component and five days on-site at the Laser College in Denver, Colorado. “National Laser School’s” Laser Bootcamp course has an online component and seven days on-site at their office or a hotel.
One-On-One With World-Class Instructors
Besides more lasers for less money, we cap our class sizes so you get more one-on-one attention during your laser training. This results in a better understanding of laser physics, safety, and technique. A smaller class size also means more time to practice a variety of treatments with a larger selection of the latest lasers on real models. While you learn and practice, you receive unrestricted access to your excellent instructors.
All of our instructors are also full-time laser technicians who regularly perform the same treatments they teach, not medical doctors whose focus is supervision rather than actually firing lasers. Our instructors are the most skilled laser technicians with 5 to 10+ years of treatment experience. They stay up to date on the latest laser treatment techniques, so you can learn the best skills to succeed. Finally, our instructors have more laser-firing experience than most medical doctor supervisors, giving you more real-world treatment knowledge.
Nothing to Hide in Our Laser Training Cost
Since our laser training costs are much lower than those of “National Laser School,” prospective students think we are hiding costs. We’re not. You have to cover your travel to get to the college, accommodations, and some meals (lunch is included). The reality is, we are a small, family-owned company. Our office and classrooms are classy, but nothing extravagant. Our owners and most experienced Certified Laser Specialists teach our courses, not some hired-out educators. This results in a much more affordable laser training cost. Cosmetic lasers are very powerful beauty tools. Laser training should be accessible to all who want it, not just the elite or people willing to take on massive debt.
